According to ALCA Rules & Regulations Definitions (page 4) an Associate Member shall mean "a person who is a FAMILY member (NOT a friend or acquaintance) of the Owner, who has been designated, authorized, and registered by an Owner who is a Member in Good Standing and is therefore permitted to use the Association's common facilities."
Violation of this is subject to a $500 citation.
New Associate Memberships must be registered or renewed online by the homeowner only. Associate Members cannot update their own access card in the office. Associate access cards are valid 1/1 to 12/31 annually. Unless renewed by the homeowner, Associate access cards will be deactivated 12/31.
